Springtails are microfauna that breakdown dead plants/leaves, organic waste and mold. Our Springtail cultures arrive in a dirt substrate ready to seed your terrarium/vivarium's substrate. We do not ship in charcoal due to Springtails being crushed in transit. To use your culture, simply mix the soil directly into your substrate and keep hydrated. Our Temperate/Tropical Springtail soil culture will thrive in most terrarium/vivariums environments.

We recommend a minimum 2oz - 4oz soil culture for every gallon of substrate in the terrarium/vivarium. The more culture you start with the quicker it will establish. Include some Microfauna Food with your order to supplement feeding or boost the growth of your culture.
