Isopods

Isopods

Dwarf Tropical White Isopods (Trichorhina tomentosa) are the most popular species of isopods for bioactive setups. They reproduce quickly, and are a great isopod to seed your vivarium with. They primarily feed on decaying wood, leaves and other organic material.

[Suggested Ordering Guide]

We recommend a minimum 2oz - 4oz soil culture for every gallon of substrate in the terrarium/vivarium. The more culture you start with the quicker it will establish. Include some Microfauna Food with your order to supplement feeding or boost the growth of your culture.

  • <1 Gallon of Substrate: 2oz - 4oz Culture

  • 1-3 Gallons of Substrate: 4oz - 10oz Culture

  • 5-9 Gallons of Substrate: 12oz - 16oz Culture

  • 10-14 Gallons of Substrate: 16oz+ Culture

  • 15+ Gallons of Substrate: 16oz+ Culture
